SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH – Kristen Beckwith’s debut album, “A True Story”, set to release October 2nd, 2020 is a powerful collection of songs written about the artist’s authentic and personal experiences of love, loss, mental illness, heartbreak, and victory. Producer’s Rowan Stigner (Elton John) and Trevor Price played key roles in bringing the ten original songs to life.
Kristen Beckwith, a versatile singer-songwriter based out of Salt Lake City, Utah is gaining speed as she makes her debut into the music industry. Her first release in March of 2019, entitled “Free”, was written about Kristen’s experience with mental illness, heartbreak, and overcoming. The track instantly became a fan favorite due to its catchy melody and relatable lyrics.
Kristen’s life experiences have influenced her songwriting and as a ripple effect influenced hundreds of listeners. “A True Story” portrays the artist’s ability to tell stories that reach deep into the heart of her listeners in a way that leaves a lasting impression. Of her debut album Kristen said, “This album is full of the most vulnerable and personal songs I have ever written. A glimpse into my experiences that I know many can relate with.”
“A True Story” is a mixture of pop, folk, singer-songwriter, and contemporary genres. Kristen has been compared to Joni Mitchell, Delta Goodram, Kacey Musgraves, and Sara Bareilles.
In the short two years Kristen has been pursuing music professionally, she has been asked to play for multiple events, festivals, concerts, and venues.
